| IN THE MOOD - A 1940's MUSICAL
REVIEW

|
If you’re “in the mood” for a
look back to the forties, this show is much more than a concert.
IN THE MOOD is a retro 1940s musical revue featuring the In the
Mood singers and dancers with the sensational String of Pearls
big band orchestra. The music and arrangements are as authentic
as it gets. This was a time that all America was listening and
dancing to the same kind of music. The 1940s big band instrumentals
and romantic ballads set the mood for a future filled with promise,
hope, and prosperity -- a time when music moved the nation. |

| CORNELL GUNTER'S COASTERS, HOBB'S
DRIFTERS & THE PLATTERS

|
Yakety Yak, Under
the Boardwalk, and Harbor Lights are just a few
of the hits that will fill the Palace auditorium when Cornell
Gunter’s Coasters, Elsbeary Hobbs’ Drifters, &
The Platters bring their oldies sounds to town. Cornell Gunter’s
Coasters are a living tribute to the great sounds of the 50s
as well as the legend of their namesake. Today, they are as
much a comedy act as a singing group. Joining them for this
double-concert day are Elsbeary Hobbs’ Drifters. Hobb’s
untimely death in 1996 doesn’t keep this group from providing
a great potpourri of standards and current rock songs. Rounding
out this trio of groups is The Platters. Only You was
the beginning of stardom for this powerful 50s group that can
still be heard on easy listening or oldies stations throughout
the country today. |
