PAULA KELLY AND
THE MODERNAIRES
The Big Band era's most legendary singing group,
the Modernaires have celebrated over 60 years in the music
business. In 1939, Glenn Miller made them an important part
of his band. It was at this time that Paula Kelly joined the
group, and for the next few decades they traveled the world
with the Glenn Miller Band. They were at the top of the field
when it came to harmony and style. When Paula Kelly retired
from the group in 1978, the natural replacement was her daughter,
Paula Kelly, Jr. The show remains virtually unchanged.
