A Tribute to Song and Dance

Thursday - March 27, 2014
@ 2:00 p.m.

Accomplished Broadway performers, Melissa Giattino & Ron DeStefano plan to sing and dance their way into the hearts of hundreds of patrons at the Marion Palace Theatre on Thursday, March 27 at 2pm.

An attractive couple who could’ve stepped out of a 1940s silver screen, the pair radiate with the same chemistry and rare artistry of vintage couples like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the original hit production, TWO ON TAP A Tribute to Song-and-Dance. During the 80 minute fast-paced and fun-filled show, Ron and Melissa sing and dance their troubles away to exciting new arrangements of classics and remind us why those famous dancing duos from Vaudeville and the Silver Screen continue to impress audiences of all ages.

The song-and-dance pair puts a fresh musical twist on beautiful old-time melodies by Gershwin, Mercer, Berlin and other Tin Pan Alley songwriters of Broadway, adds the razor-sharp precision of tap choreography and mixes in a hearty dose of humor creating the perfect blend of contemporary entertainment. The resulting show is funny, heartwarming and simply adorable.

Patrons can expect to see Ron and Melissa perform exciting up-tempo show tunes such as “I Got Rhythm,” “Yes Sir That’s My Baby,” lush and moving ballads “My Romance,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” as well as old favorites, “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter” and more! Music will be performed by a trio of professional touring musicians: David Snyder (Piano), Daniel Fabricatore (Bass) and Barbara Merjan (Percussion).

Ron and Melissa met when they performed together on Broadway in the 2001 Tony Award revival of 42nd Street. Since then, they have engaged audiences worldwide with their gorgeous vocals, special brand of humor and fancy footwork.

Ron DeStefano has garnered rave reviews and awards for his performances around the world, from the hottest cabaret venues of New York City to the lavish opera houses of Europe. He made his international debut with the Tony-Award winning musical Evita and starred opposite Theodore Bikel in the national tour of Fiddler on the Roof as well as in many other musicals around the country, including New York City’s Lincoln Center Babes in Toyland. Ron is also a Back Stage Bistro Award-winning cabaret performer.

A former Radio City Rockette, Melissa Giattino began her professional performing career at the age of 17 in the National Tour of A Chorus Line and also performed in Show Boat on London’s West End. Gifted with a beautiful voice as well, Melissa has starred in musicals on stages around the world, including the title role in the International Tour of Peter Pan, Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, Esther Smith in Meet Me in St. Louis, and Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun.

Make plans now to take a sentimental journey and a fresh look at the exciting lost art form of duo song-and-dance with TWO ON TAP on Thursday, March 27 at the historic Marion Palace Theatre.
