Look below for some of the opportunities available as a Palace volunteer.

*Ushers for performances
*Concession stand workers
*Greeters
*Backstage crew

What exactly do Palace volunteers do?
The jobs at the Palace include, but are not limited to: kiosk ticket sales agent, ticket taker, greeter, program passer, coat room attendant, performance usher, backstage crew, show security, costume room assistant, spotlight operator, film projectionist, concession stand worker and Arts Palace classroom helper. You can even assist off-site by delivering posters, table tents and other marketing materials. Match your interests and talents and spend as little or as much time as you’d like helping out!

What’s in it for me?
Volunteering at the Marion Palace Theatre can be a wonderful and rewarding experience.  Our volunteers are recognized and awarded on an annual basis in addition to a quarterly prize drawing.  Volunteers of all ages learn how to help run a theatre, build their resumes, connect with others and enjoy the cultural activities and performances at the theatre. Students might fulfill their community service requirements; college students have crafted internships; young and older adults value the networking opportunities; and our retirees take pleasure in giving back to the community.  However, all volunteers agree one of the greatest perks while serving the Marion Palace Theatre is being able to enjoy any of the fabulous shows for free!

Sounds like fun, how do I get started?
For the comfort, safety and security of our theatre patrons, all Palace volunteers are required to attend an orientation session  before they begin working.  Volunteer Orientations last between 60 and 90 minutes and are offered every quarter.

In order to maintain a professional standard for this organization, anyone wishing to become a member of the Marion Palace Theatre Volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation. Topics such as dress code, appropriate codes of conduct and policies and procedures will be covered.  Please call the theatre box office (740-383-2101) to RSVP for an upcoming orientation.
