FOR THE YOUNG

SET THE STAGE 2018
Ages 6 to 14 years
July 23 – July 27 and July 30 – August 3

Mon-Fri 9:30am to 4:30pm (doors open at 9am)

This camp opportunity is an all day, all week experience for campers ages 6 to 14 years. With this year’s theme, COLOR, they’ll kick off each day with exciting group work teaching the concepts of collaboration and team building. Campers will be encouraged to use their imaginations to COLOR-fully create scenes, perform improv skits, and write commercial dialogue for filming. Lessons to be learned include taking risks, thinking outside the box, creating the “who, what and where” of a skit or sketch to guarantee the audience laughs, and more. Additional camp time will be spent on vocal quality, physicality, and character development.

Camp wouldn’t be complete without a big, COLOR-ful song and dance number. Taught in a fun and creative way, dance will challenge campers to focus on stage presence and proper dance technique for experiences in high-energy musical theatre choreography, a valuable experience in preparation for school and Palace stage shows.

Mid-day will afford camp goers the opportunity to enjoy their brown bag lunches brought from home. Mid afternoon, the Palace will provide a snack to keep campers at full steam for their closing session. Friday afternoon includes pizza for the campers to refuel before the final performance presented for family and friends!

This 7 hour- a-day, 5 day camp is packed from start to finish with lessons geared at linking the thrill of performance with the instruction needed to grow your camper’s passion and skills – and it’s all in a fun-filled camp setting. Don’t miss this opportunity to introduce your budding actor to the stage or to expose your already aspiring actress to an even deeper theatre experience. Sign up today. Camps fill quickly. Early registrants get first pick of their t-shirt color!

2018 camp fees: $165 Non-Member, $150 Sibling Rate, $145 PCAA Member
