Giving Opportunites
As a 501 c 3 organization, the Palace Cultural Arts Association depends on the generosity of corporations, foundations, and individual donations to remain operational.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
Annual membership dollars are needed to cover the daily operational expenses of the 1928 historic Marion Palace Theatre and to support programming. Like all performing arts theatres, ticket sale revenues cover less than one-half of the operating costs.

Several membership levels are available and start at $25 for an annual adult or annual family membership and $10 for a junior student membership. Annual memberships cover July 1 – June 30.

All members receive benefits including early access to tickets, name listed in season Playbill, discounts at area restaurants, reduced movie admission, popcorn passes, access to a dedicated ticket agent exclusively for member ticket purchases at the door on show nights, and waived handling fees for members when purchasing tickets in person or by phone.
AUDITORIUM SEAT
Purchase a seat for yourself, in honor or memory of a special person, or in honor of an organization. A permanent plaque with up to two lines of text (25 characters max) will be placed on each seat you sponsor. Please contact the Palace Theatre Box Office at 740-383-2101 for a current list of available seats. Aisle seat $500. Inside Seat $300.
FUND DONATION
Ticket sales only generate a portion of our income. Therefore, the PCAA relies on the investment of the community to fulfill our mission. Donors can allocate funds to:
-
General Fund – Used where most needed
-
Percussion Fund – Help keep the music going by contributing to the percussion fund for use on instrumental equipment owned by the Palace
-
Organ Fund – Support the upkeep of the Palace’s Mighty Wurlitzer Organ
-
Scholarship Fund – Provide an opportunity to develop performance skills, express creativity, and have fun through the Palace Academy of Arts Camps & Classes
-
Building Fund – Keep the historic Palace Theatre up and running by supporting the building fund for maintenance needs
CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP
Corporate sponsorship dollars are an investment in the Marion community and play an important part in perpetuating the future of the arts and their impact.

In addition, sponsorship dollars help keep ticket prices reasonable and ensure that the same high quality entertainment Palace patrons have come to love and appreciate remains center stage.

Palace Theatre corporate partners may choose to sponsor individual events or a series such as Palace Produced Events, School Matinees, and Friday’s in the May. Sponsor logos will appear year round in publications such as the monthly Applause mailings, purchased advertising promotions, website, and e-mail blasts. Additional benefits include complimentary and discounted tickets, use of meeting spaces, playbill advertising, and more. For complete details and available shows to sponsor please contact the Palace Executive Director at director@marionpalace.org.
PERPETUAL CARE FUND & PALACE ENDOWMENT FUND
The Marion Palace Theatre Perpetual Care Fund at Marion Community Foundation is specifically restricted to capital expenses (major repairs, capital improvements, and restoration of the theatre.) A portion of income generated from this fund will be spent only on these items and never on general operating or programming expenses. A fully funded Perpetual Care fund will help protect against the need for “emergency fundraising” if disaster strikes the theatre and repairs require a significant capital expense.

How is an endowment gift different from an annual gift? An unrestricted annual gift is usually spent within the year it is received. An endowment is comprised of gifts and bequests with the requirement that the fund be invested and the principal remain intact. Only a percentage of the income growth is available to the nonprofit. This allows for each donation to have a much greater impact over a longer period of time than if they were spent all at once.

In addition to a cash gift to the Marion Palace Theatre Perpetual Care fund, donors may make contributions of stock, property, or bequests through estate planning to the Palace Endowment Fund. For further information, please consult with your attorney or contact the Marion Community Foundation, located inside the historic Stengel-True Museum at 504 South State Street in Marion.
