“Tomorrow” Starts Today – Audition for Annie at the Marion Palace Theatre!

Are you ready to take center stage in one of the most iconic musicals of all time? The Marion Palace Theatre invites performers to audition for Annie, the heartwarming Broadway classic that opens our 97th season! Directed by the talented Clare Cooke, this production promises unforgettable music, charming characters, and a powerful message of hope.


Whether you're a young dreamer ready to step into the spotlight or a seasoned performer looking for your next great role, this is your chance to be part of something truly special.


Audition details

Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025

Location: Marion Palace Theatre Main Stage – 276 W Center St, Marion, OH

Children (ages 7-14): 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Adults: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Please prepare a one-minute solo to perform (sheet music required; no CDs). Those auditioning for a speaking role may be asked to read from the script.


Roles to cast

Annie features a large, multi-generational cast with standout roles for both youth and adults. Roles include:

  • Annie – A spirited young orphan with unwavering hope.

  • Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks – A powerful billionaire with a softening heart.

  • Miss Hannigan – The comically cruel head of the orphanage.

  • Grace Farrell – Warbucks’ kind and capable secretary.

  • Rooster & Lily – Miss Hannigan’s scheming brother and his flashy girlfriend.

  • The Orphans – A lively group of girls with big personalities.

  • President Franklin D. Roosevelt & Cabinet Members – Historical figures who add heart and humor.

  • Ensemble – Includes staff, NYC citizens, Hooverville residents, and more.
