Auditions Announced for Holy Mother of Bingo!

The Marion Palace Theatre is excited to bring a one-of-a-kind comedy to the May Pavilion stage this spring: Holy Mother of Bingo! This interactive murder mystery blends a classic whodunit with real-time audience bingo, wild characters, and outrageous laughs.

And now—we’re looking for the cast to bring this hilariously chaotic world to life.

Auditions will take place Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Marion Palace Theatre, and are open to performers ages 15 and up. Directed by Elizabeth Moore, this show offers roles for all experience levels. Prepare a 1-minute memorized monologue, and be ready to read from the script. No singing or dance required.


About the Show

Set in the Our Mother of Mercy parish, Holy Mother of Bingo! begins with a seemingly innocent church fundraiser… until parishioners start dropping dead mid-bingo. As the mystery unfolds, quirky characters reveal secrets, tempers flare, and yes—bingo must go on. With the audience playing along and suspects all around, the laughs are non-stop and the energy is high.

Here’s a peek at some of the roles up for grabs—ranging from church staff to parishioners, youth leaders to Cookie Cadets, and everything in between:

Mother of Mercy Parish & School Staff

  • Father Ron Culpepper – Enthusiastic and attention-loving pastor 

  • Monsignor Aldo Stoffregen – 99 years old and often asleep

  • Sister Helen – Confused but capable principal 

  • Percy Poole – Buttoned-up business manager 

  • Sister Josephine – Rule-following music teacher and choir director

  • Marabelle Manson – Timid rector manager, constantly multitasking

  • Brother Dearlove – Graduate and future priest; serious and sincere 

  • Reed Yackley – Magician-turned-youth-minister with questionable tricks 

  • Lumpy Landers – Limping custodian with secrets and a mysterious bag

  • Ted & Regina Blitzman – Local realtor and eager wife-to-be 

  • Rob, Grace & Sky Walters – Traditional couple and their goth daughter 

  • Zippy Rudolph – Soon-to-be-baptized ex-convict 

  • Karen – Demanding, fed-up parishioner

  • Mack O’Malley – Local landscaper with an unpaid bill

  • Nancy & Farrah – Cookie Cadets leader and her daughter
