The Marion Palace Theatre is excited to announce auditions for Disney's Aladdin JR. Filled with unforgettable songs, colorful characters, exciting choreography, and plenty of theatrical magic, this beloved Disney musical offers young performers the opportunity to shine on the historic Palace stage.

Whether you dream of soaring on a magic carpet, granting wishes as the Genie, joining the bustling streets of Agrabah, or simply experiencing the excitement of live theatre for the first time, we invite you to audition!

Audition Details

Date: Sunday, August 16, 2026

Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Ages: Open to performers ages 8 and up

Location: Marion Palace Theatre, 276 W. Center St., Marion, OH

What to Prepare

Ensemble Auditions

• Participate in group singing and dancing

• No prepared solo is required

• Come ready to sing, move, follow directions, and have fun!

Lead & Featured Role Auditions

• Prepare a one-minute musical theatre selection (please do not sing from Aladdin JR.)

• Be prepared to read from the script

• A pianist will be provided—please bring sheet music (recorded accompaniment will not be accepted)

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for movement.

Character Breakdown

Featured Roles

Aladdin – A clever street kid with a heart of gold who dreams of something bigger. Charismatic, adventurous, and a strong singer.

Genie – Fast-talking, hilarious, and larger than life. A comedic scene-stealer who loves entertaining.

Princess Jasmine – Curious, courageous, and determined to choose her own future. A confident actor and strong vocalist.

Jafar – Agrabah's ambitious royal advisor whose hunger for power drives the story.

Iago – Jafar's sarcastic and comedic sidekick.

Babkak, Omar & Kassim – Aladdin's loyal friends who bring humor, heart, and terrific vocal opportunities.

The Sultan – Jasmine's caring father and ruler of Agrabah.

Isir, Manal & Rajah – Jasmine's devoted attendants who encourage her to explore the world beyond the palace walls.
